The Day

Okay so a lot has happened since my last blog, and frankly I have been very busy. I got caught up with school as well as my wedding haha. The school year went by rather fast thankfully because at the time I didn't think it would go by at all!! However, I did surviv as well as many others this year and it has been great fun.

Now, onto business. Currently I am sitting across from my beautiful wife as we enjoy a nice evening in Hastings (which happens to be the place I work) just sippin on some coffee and enjoying each other and I couldn't be happier! The week leading up to the wedding was an absolute killer!! I have never wanted time to go by so fast in my life! On top of that I dreaded going to work every single shift that I had. It was like I was dragging myself as well as two cinderblocks to work! Thankfully I had some awesome people I work with, and some awesome friends who let me stay with them till it was time to go.

Then the day that I had longed since dreamed of finally arrived I was headin to UTAH WOOP WOOP!! Luckily it was only a 4 hour drive, and I was also blessed to the fact that my friend drove cause I just didn't want to haha. BUTT!! We got there safley (obviously) checked into the hotel with my family, and another best friend of mine that they brought up, and basically had a blast!!

More of this story in a moment, just a quick rant...right now I am listening the new Macklemore album "The Heist" aaaand I gotta say that the whole album in my opinion is amazing! Now, with that said I have to say this if you are reading this maybe you have read the other entries if not then I have to say this I am a Christian studying to be a pastor. "What?? A Christian listening to what is considered a "non-Christian" artist and album??" Yes, in fact I listen to more "non-Christian" music than I do actual "Christian" music because I can appreciate good music just as much as the next person. Whatever, your background you can appreciate good music anywhere you can find it!! I do also believe that music has the power to influence people. For example "What you put in, is what is going to come out." I think that once you start to realize that the way you talk and act is starting to change that whatever you are listening to peobably needs to change. In short listen to whatever you want, but be self-aware and know when it is time to listen to something else or take a break.

Anyway, back to the real story. So when finally everyone arrived we hung out at the hotel for a while until we left to go to my now wifes house and had an awesome BBQ. Afterwards me and the guys left, cause they wanted to go do something...quite honestly I forget what we did that first night...but I can assure you we didn't do anything crazy!

The next day was the rehearsal dinner, and I was more nervous than ever in my entire life. I was shaking already and it wasn't even the real thing!! Got through it though and afterwards had some pizza with everyone, then the actual bachelore party began. All of us guys left, and went to Salt Lake City. We were basically waiting for Iron Man 3 to start, but in the meantime we walked around and went to a huge outside mall, was given free food by some ladies and just had a blast! They made drink a cup of 5 straight shots from Starbucks...that hurt my everything. We were flashed...by a guy with his girlfriend next to him haha.

After the movie we were walking back to the car which seem to be across the city haha, and we came upon this park that had poles sticking straight up out of the ground then this other group of people were coming toward us, and this guy was just like "Anyone?" while looking at us and walked through the poles! They were PVC pipe and you could just bend them willy nilly! So my best man was like alright and bolted toward them and I followed him. The very first pipe came back and hit me square in the for-head.

The next day I had a giant bump on my head just before the ceremony. Then I got married the end!! And the Beginning!!!!

Christmas

Okay so after some thought and careful consideration (and some persuasion) I have decided on my next topic.

Now I like Christmas music (not really) as much as the next guy, but this is where I stand on not only this, but Christmas in general.

If you are reading this from anywhere other than USA or a westernized culture you might wonder the same thing as I do. Why do we have to start Christmas so early?? And why make it such a big deal???

For every other holiday we wait till the day or the Eve of that day to actually consider celebrating it. Not for this one. During October I saw Christmas lights going up, during the season of Halloween. That is ridiculous to me. People will argue, "Well it takes a long time to put those lights up." Yeah maybe if you do it yourself and are not apart of the giant gatherings that happen to drive through neighborhoods at night to see them. Even then I'm like, "You paid someone to do that." they're like, "It still takes them a long time." Maybe a day at the most!! What I have noticed about life is that if you start doing something, and you get really good at it. Chances are it will take you no time at all! You have people where there job is to go through a neighborhood and put up stupid lights!!

Other people still argue, "It's the season of giving." That's great! I am all for that. Giving things away to those that are less fortunate than yourself is probably the greatest thing of all time. I personally LOVE "Operation Christmas Child" it may not mean much, but when I can't afford to do things for my own family, giving away a gift to a child that I may never meet is one of the coolest ideas to me. I cry every year for that program or whatever you want to call it. Almost as bad as those Sarah McG commercials (if you know what I am talking about). However, when you do something like this...

Don't be offended when I don't believe you when you tell me, "I was thinking of others." Non-sense. People have gotten really selfish. That is unfortunately how we are. At least in a westernized type culture.

Next we have this group, "It's a time to celebrate the birth of Christ." I am pretty sure I said that I am a die hard follower of Jesus in my last post which is why I am going to school at a Christian college to be a preacher, but that doesn't mean that I don't have my disagreements with the church "system." I digress the topic of "Religion" may be my next thing I talk about...

Anyway, I also see this as a form of "justification" or an excuse to do the "stupid" if you will. I don't think going around putting this up...

Once a year in your lawn is proclaiming Christ. This tells me, "Look at me I can put up cardboard cut-outs on my lawn in an order that I looked up on the internet." Then you have people driving or walking by being like, "Oh look at that another one. I didn't know we had so many Christians in our neighborhood."

A few things are wrong with this style of thinking in terms of the scence itself. Such as 1). The bible does not say how many "wise men" or "magi" there were. It only says they showed up with gifts. 2). Bible says he was born "in a manger" that is basically a barn. So why do we make it look like the most perfect thing in the world like it was perhaps comfortable to have a baby there? Animals wouldn't have cared to look at baby Jesus. They were ANIMALS! They were probably all thinking, "What is this thing and why is it in my food?" They were all honey badgers inmy opinion and didn't care! Which brings me to point 3). Jesus was a baby. How many babies have you seen that look super holy and awesome after coming out of the womb.

Lastly music. Now i have a few songs that I like, but do we really need to hav them start playing 2 months in advance? I just...I don't understand it. I also just dislike how long they last. Like 2 months before and a 1 month after seems ridiculous to me. Oh well, that's all I gotta say. I know I said that was what I was mainly going to talk about, but things happen ya known? Haha now time to read me some LOTR!!

Been a while

So way back (I say that as if I am old and know how to use the internets. We all know old people don't use the internet) when MySpace was super cool and every body HAD to have one or else you were so not like the cool kids. I used to blog about things I dare not repeat. I went back through couple months ago, and realized I was an idiot. So I deleted that, and decided to start over. However, that train came to a stop as I realized "I only blog once a year! Dang I'm good!" Now that everything we do seems to be on teh interwebs I am going to try at this again, and hope for the best.

So here we go...almost there...nope I got nothing. What do people talk about here?? Yeah sure I have read blogs and stuff my fiancee (did I spell that right?) has an awesome blog! But I am a scientist (wannabe) nobody wants to read about Astrophysics, String Theory, and Cosmology (no ladies not the kind where you do your nails or whatever you girls do). I mean for nerds such as myself who just like to be weird and read comics what are we to talk about that will appeal to more than just one type of audience?? "Oh well jeez dude why don't you talk about that?" I will! Sometimes of course, but what if you want to reach out to more than just that demographic you so nicely fit in? Read blogs about it...that is like doing a research paper where the topic you chose you think to yourself, "Oh yeah there has got to be a bunch of information about this!" Turns out you're wrong. I guess you can't really just teach people how to blog because there are so many things to write about.

Well, anyway it's late, and I don't have class in the morning. So could for now and the sleep be never ever restless. Unless you're like me and don't sleep. Goodnight.
